Gooday Armychief, How are you going ?

I guess so
We were only her staff, so I think we couldn't be taken to task over her actions!

Actually she made one hell of a lot of noise, including growling and the sideways walk I photographed, which would scare most living things -

It brings up the whole weapons debate again. I dont want to go there. A burglary is different to a 'home invasion' The 'perp' is after different things. A burglary just takes stuff. You dont need stuff to keep breathing!

Yes, unfortunately in Australia there are! Partly why I had no hesitation buying a smaller and playful dog. A bloke I know who is a mad pirate just copped a huge fine and damages over similar. He is a real character and I had to laugh at the write-up in the paper about the judge calling his evidence “appalling”. Maybe the Judge had no sense of humour?

Here’s a photo of my little “fluffy” bravely guarding the valuables and companionway. Come any closer and he will chew your shins off!

Definitely a ferocious predator animal there. On the other hand maybe plugging the cockpit scuppers and filling the cockpit with river water and a few dozen piranaha fish would discourage anybody trying to enter via the companionway. Big teeth sometimes come in small packages.

Dogs could be effective to scare people away

He will bark and sound rabid if they come for my stuff! (Hey, come play)
He will show his teeth at them! (To show his smile. But it looks scary)
He will jump at them! (Let me lick your face. But they wouldn´t know that)

If nothing works, he´ll just carry my stuff to their vehicle, wiggling his tail

He´s a real lap dog but, at least, he SOUNDS scary

In order to defend me if I´m present though, he could be mean. I once was confronted with a drunk man who, when I refused to go into the shop to buy him more booze, got a bit abusive. Teddy (the wuss dog) almost took his head off. He is strong and weighs like 35-38 kilos, so I got a bit busy holding him down while the drunk probably wet his pants (even more)
