The stressful bits.

Hello,

We have purchased a Cat in Palmetto FL and are trying to work out the logistics of getting it to Georgetown SC.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where we might be able to park a car in St. Augustine FL for two weeks or so? May 15th though about June 1st.

Thanks,
William

Rent a car 1-way. Rent a car in Georgetown and drive it to Palmetto and take possession of the boat. Do the drop off at the Tampa Airport and arrange a ride back (Uber, Cab, boat broker, seller, or marina services). then run the boat back home. It saves you having to go back to Palmetto to pick up the car and drive it back to Georgetown again.

We've done this quite a few times. It's much cheaper than you'd think.

Thanks, Just looked at a U-Haul and it is $620 for the smallest truck they have.

You could park it at Northwest Florida Regional Airport. Its $8 a day.

Alternatively, storage facility places often let you store cars in their gated lots- virtually all will have monthly rates. I got a quote for $50 a month to keep my car at one recently.

Yep, this is a good plan. My wife and I did this when we delivered our own vessel and it worked out well. We parked one of our vehicles at our home marina and drove a rental out to the area where our new boat was and had the rental company drop us off at the boat.
