Right now, Newfoundland.

willp14335, when this is done would you post the data summary here? It would be interesting to read. And good luck with your program and your design plan.

Re: What boat do you live on?

Kelly Peterson 46 (but also spent 5 years living aboard a Frers PJ 80, 4 years on an Alden 54, and a couple of years on an HR 38).

One or two.

World wide, but I prefer the South Pacific

Re: What boat do you live on?

Olympic Adventure 47.

Crew of 5, well really 2.

If you were looking for features of a good cruiser, I would say accessibility to mechanical systems. Wife would say ergonomics of the galley!

Re: What boat do you live on?

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I cannot share work done for the university publicly (due to university plagiarism rules) , but I can probably share some basic data about the average boat length, used value etc...

It might also be worth reaching out to some of the cruiser-focused yards like Amel to see if they have any market research or industry data they may have made public and are willing to point you towards.

Re: What boat do you live on?

When I was much younger (35) I lived on a Passport 42 with a ten year old son and wife in the San Juan Islands. Currently restoring a Bruce Roberts steel Mauritius 44 which I did live on with another person a couple of summers ago and might in the future. Where you cruise makes a big difference. In the Caribbean I would choose a Cat.
