Re: When the Dream Ends

I participated in two "last sail" events of friends before they sold their boats and retired from cruising. Both my friends are in there late 70's. Not sure if this is in the health or in the age category.
I bought my own boat from another man in his late 70's after his wife left and went back home to Europe. The boat was and still is in Tahiti. The seller also returned to Europe.

Ann;

We are in the USVI at the moment. Lovely place, a lot to recommend it, too arid for our taste. The BVI is going through some problems at the moment, PM is in a USA jail for drug dealing, etc.

We like Dominica a lot. Self sufficient in food, plentiful water. Not much infrastructure. As ling as we can sail we can do a slow commute between Dominica and the French Islands. That sounds pretty good. As long as we can sail.

New Caladonia? Have to look into that. I suspect my Wife will say “too far.” But she surprises me.

New Cal's approximately 22 deg. S/166E

The traveling is some of the nicest you'll ever find.
