Only know about summer. Ken can tell you about winter.

I was there for 12 days at the end of September, no mosquitos. But being from New England they don't bother me that much, I just avoid being outside at dusk.

Re: Winter stop over in Sardinia?

Hi Derek,

Fertilia is very close to Alghero but much less expensive. We had our boat there for a few months some time ago...

Over 100 overwinterers and over 50 liveaboards. As much social stuff as you could want.

HI Brian We were thinking of wintering in Marina Di Ragusa, we've never been there, but was recommended it by another liveaboard. Have you been there recently? SD

Check out Licata also. Cheaper, better protected, and friendlier (we find), and better security.

Re: Winter stop over in Sardinia?

This thread was supposed to be about Sardinia. Mea Culpa, think i was the one to first bring up Ragusa. It is of course much closer to the airport (Ryanair also flies to Comiso which is close). End of next season i will most likely end up at Ragusa, although some say (including those in the Cruising Association) that as a marina, Licata is better. Not sure if there is a service from Licata marina to the airport. Licata also gives 15% discount to CA members.

OK, then ask for Emi or Serena (they know Karen and I - yacht Te Anau, well). They did have a promotion going that they may still be able to offer you.
