You know you're a liveaboard when your cell phone IS you home phone, and your Area Code no longer matches up with the one where you're currently mooring your boat.

You know you might be a live aboard if you do not allow yourself to think of the similarities to the reds neck living in travel trailers in an RV part...and go on the defensive when some one else does.

doesn't everyone (not on the hook) do the dishes on the dock box?

trusty teapot of hot water for the wash, hose for the rinse?

YMBALI...in spite of the icy ramps, freezing cold sails, and cool nights when the heater is on the fritz or just not running as much to conserve power....you miss the winter peacefulness for its absence of snooty "yachtie" types, clueless boat-handlers, and drunken power-craft cutting across your bow...ah summer.

You might be a liveaboard if you spill the morning cup and the tee shirt is an absorbent. You then hope for a transdermal experience.

OK ... YMBALI (nice one GeoPowers) your in line at the check out and realise your cloths are covered with cat fur, you haven't shaved in a week and you have a raggedy hair cut because not only do you cut your own hair but you do it in the head where there isn't enough light to illuminate George W. Bush's thoughts.

What? It's just me?

Or, YMBALI if you're standing on line at the checkout, wearing your foulies on a sunny day because you're going to be splashing back upwind in the dinghy. Double points if you've got plastic trash bags to protect your purchases as well.

YMBALA if your favorite part of staying in a hotel is being able to see your face when you shave.

or if someone asks whether you've lost weight, and you realize you haven't been anywhere near a bathroom scale in over a decade.

or if, when your doctor recommends a sitz bath, you realize not only that you haven't got the technology, but that you haven't had a proper bath since the last time you owned a bathroom scale.

You might be a liveaboard if...even after all the things that make life so much harder than living on land, you understand why it is still better.

of course if I spent as much on a boat as a house costs now a days I could live quite comfortably.
