back from not-so-holidays

This has little to do with sailing but I've gotta go for it anyway.

These were my holidays:

Christmas morning - wake up with fever of 104 degrees
day after christmas - same
day after that - same
day after that - head home to boston
that same night -house burns down lose pretty much everything
next day -getting over fever stay with friends
next day -look for apartments
next day -find apartment
new years -diagnosed with pneumonia
etc.etc
jan7 -still lying in bed with pneumonia. Dog is now sick and dying.

I am not kidding

The one redeeming thing about this whole experience is that I got a copy of Chapman's for Christmas and it made it through the fire. I have had plenty of time to read it.

WOW. Not quite sure how to respond. Hopefully your feet are on the bottom which means only one way to go.....up. GL and sorry for the hard luck.

Paraphrasing Mother Teresa:
You know that God will not give you any adversity you cannot handle; but you could wish he didn’t trust you quite so much.

I hope you will soon see the moon, through your burned roof.

Well, that pretty much sucks, but that made me appreciate things better. I hope everything works out for you.

Whenn ever things seem to go down hill for me, I try and remind myself that there is always someone out there worse off than me. But I had always wondered who maybe at the end of the line ;-)

Mate, having had pnuemonia, I know how you feel and wish you the best and speedy recovery. I hope it truns out well for the dog. At least houses can be replaced.
All the best
