So who has a boat theme song? Fess up and post it. I from one for my boat:

not recommending it be yours, but is plain to see on occasion.....

Nothing to do with the name of the boat, but it works for us.

People love lists. So the media is always coming up with more. Problem is, they almost always get them wrong. The latest example is a list our outdoors writer, Doug Goodman, points out in his Quick Shots in Thursday’s paper: The National Marine Manufacturer’s Association, in its Discover Boating promotional campaign, named the 10 best boating songs:
First of all, several of the songs aren’t even about boats: No. 2 Brandy is about a sailor’s girlfriend; No. 8 Dock of the Bay is about hanging out at the beach and No. 9 Son of a Son of a Sailer is about, well, the son of a son of a sailer.
Second of all, there is no Bob Dylan song on the list. Come on! When the Ship Comes In should be top three, at least.
Thirdly, No. 6 Proud Mary is an easy, easy No. 1.
Doug complains that Row, Row, Row Your Boat was left out.
Our sports editor, Randy Ruef, wanted the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald included. But that’s a piece of overwrought drivel.
Sports writer Emily Tropp voted for I’m on a Boat, from a Saturday Night Live routine by Andy Samberg.
I would have included When the Ship Comes In, Sloop John B, Yellow Submarine, Michael Row Your Boat Ashore and Come On Down to My Boat, Baby. And that’s just off the top of my head.
Here is the official, much-flawed list:
Boats (Kenny Chesney); Brandy (Looking Glass); Come Sail Away (Styx); If I Had a Boat (Lyle Lovett); Into the Mystic (Van Morrison); Proud Mary (Credence Clearwater Revival); Redneck Yacht Club (Craig Morgan); Dock of the Bay (Otis Redding); Son of a Son of a Sailor (Jimmy Buffett) and Southern Cross (Crosby, Stills & Nash).
Hey, at least they had the decency to put down the CCR version of Proud Mary instead of the Ike and Tina Turner cover.

  Don’t Rock the Boat: The Hues Corp.
  I’m a little surprised it took until the third paragraph to mention Dylan. I would have put the over/under at three sentences.

  I was trying not to be overbearing about Dylan. That’s also why I didn’t lobby him for No. 1. … As much as I love Dylan, any reasonable music fan would put Proud Mary at No. 1 as a boat song. … I would have also nominated Old Man River from Showboat, but people said it was about the Mississippi, not the boat. I say the whole musical was about a boat, so that should count.

Eileen Quinn, don't remember the song title, but the lyric goes something like:

"If it ain't broke, don't use it.... "

She has some great boat songs! See Eileen Quinn - music for sailors ... and normal people. She was cruising the NW Carib/Rio Dulce area when we were there. Heard her live several times.
