Do a cover of Judy Collins' Fairwell to Tarwathie with a carp rhythm chorus.

A couple of glasses of Chardonnay before bed should do the trick... Capt Phil

Re: Carp Knocking on my boat

i've got a horrible racoon problem here in tennessee.
i can ship you half a dozen of them no problem.
they'll sit on your swim platform and wrestle those carp into their lunch bucket.
of course they breed like rats.
then what do you do with a few dozen racoons in the engine room?
perhaps someone in florida with gators to eat the racoons . . . .

It might be. This is the first year I've heard they were found in our area.

Unless they breed later up your way it's probably just meal time. They breed down here (southern coast of Lake Erie) around the middle of June and yes it is maddening. The ones we had this year were NOT asian carp but they are in the lake. Give them a little while and they'll be a major problem like the zebra mussels. An article I read said a particular ethnicity (specifics escape me) throws them in for good luck.

Hope the carp leave soon for you. It is obnoxious. I pour a 5 gal bucket of water out in the area to try and encourage them to move on but am rarely successful. I like the grenade idea but it would take me with it.

Re: Carp Knocking on my boat

Someone suggested filling a net pouch with corn and hang it off the dock. I'm going to try that.

Re: Carp Knocking on my boat

We had the problem earlier in the spring on the Columbia River but they weren't bumping the bottom but were splashing under the bridge deck of our catamaran right under our bed, it was great to wake up to fish splashing around under the bed instigating in our bed. The carp breading season is over so it quit but they do clean the bottom regularly. They'll be back next year on your bottom

Re: Carp Knocking on My Boat

I would tell you to drop some live power lines in the water to stun them but that would be bad.
