Cool Change - time lapse sailing video

As some of you may remember I had a terrible start to my 2014 sailing season http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ll-124665.html

I've just now spent 5 days in Corfu. I could have booked to stay here longer but until I got here I really did not know if I could sail (here alone) or if I had to limit my trip to just sitting around the marina. I figured 5 days would be the maximum for the later.

Happily my knee was up for some adventure so I sailed. I decided to mount my GoPro on the yacht and shot time lapse (5 second intervals) on the 3 days I was out. The video is made up of about 3500 photos.

Hi Hoppy,

Great video of some great weather and sailing. Loved the time lapse and made me think that whilst we are sailing etc , we are really getting some good exercise.
Your yacht seems well setup but why do you put the bimini and doger up and down when coming into port?
Keep smiling
Derek

I liked this time lapse format, I hope I see more sailing videos like this... Good on you getting back out there despite your set back. Looks like so much fun!

The bimini gets in the way enough to be inconvenient when coming in, as it makes getting the lazy line a little more difficult and does slow me when getting in and out of the cockpit (even before the accident). With a crew I might leave it up but when solo I sometimes need to be in two places at once. On this occasion after I took the lazy line I needed to give a little forward thrust as the wind was blowing me towards the dock and this certainly would have been more awkward if the Bimini was still in place

Re: Cool Change - time lapse sailing video

Hi Hoppy,

I can understand now and feel stupid for asking the question. If I was doing the same procedure I would find the extra space better but Ive got my Bimini fixed and wonder if this is in fact a bad thing if foul weather comes in.

Hope you can keep the time lapse movies coming , I thought it was great and not as boring as those blogs movies that go on forever. I leart more in a shorter time and thank you for it.

Keep up the good work Hoppy.

Derek.

PS, spent 5 years in the most hipocritically named suburb of Melbourne, Sunshine.
