Reiner... that's a good question... maybe they mean glow plugs in their diesels!

Cheers,

Now I'm feeling guilty for being so snotty... we've got a diesel heater in Insatiable II, and we tend to turn it on if it gets below 50 F.

This from a chap who was brought up in Chicago... but I had the sense to leave!

Apologies to all...

Jim

Went to the boat the other day when it was 20-30 degrees out (that's F for you metric folks). Got a little heater to take with me so I could work on little BS maintenance items that could just as well waited till March when it was warmer.

Must stay focused on THE PLAN to make it though this winter and next 4.
I've been down to boat 4 times since I put her up for the winter. I sit there with the heater on and think about all the stuff I still have to do to get ready for spring. The list doens't get any shorter, but I feel better.

Well it does help make the list shorter if you DO a couple items while there

Was sitting on the boat yesterday with wife and rugrats who were happily watching Captain Ron (yeah, we're that bad..) and I was bored stupid so I broke out the teak oil and went to town...have almost got the galley refinished..it's not gonna be new boat pretty, but it will be old boat distressed pretty...feel like I got something done for a change...still haven't re ballasted the old tub...stupid PO....I'll wait for permanent ballast until I can get her up on the hard and pull the shaft and glass it in..big water jugs until I re-deck the former engine room. I really need a bigger heater on that boat...jeez.
