Darwin200 Global Voyage:
A 50-metre long, Dutch schooner, “Oosterschelde”, set sail, Tuesday, from Plymouth, on the south coast of England, on a two-year, 40,000 nautical mile, mission to train, and inspire, a new generation of [±200] naturalists, by retracing the voyage, taken by a young Charles Darwin, nearly 200 years ago, that led to his theory of evolution.

The DARWIN200 Global Voyage will make landfall at key locations, where Charles Darwin stepped ashore, during the voyage of HMS “Beagle”.
The Darwin200 voyage consists of 32 legs, that span the globe, taking place from 2023 to 2025.
The first leg of the DARWIN200 Global Voyage, Plymouth to Tenerife, Canary Islands, is expected to take 12 days.

Darwin set sail, aboard the HMS “Beagle”, in 1831, on a five-year voyage, that passed around South America, and went to Australia, and New Zealand.
