I suspect an internet forum thing.

Over the years I have been active members of a few Forums, sometimes

a bit too committed.

The funny thing is that once one leaves a Forum quickly becomes hard to remember exactly why so involved (and wasted so much time

). Indeed a few forums I can't even remember the names of

..........add in that cyberspace people moves on without yer, never the same coming back

We have internet where I am now (which isn't where MarkJ is, BTW) but it is difficult to avoid the lure of cycle rides along the river, hammering nails into floorboards and train hopping to see relatives etc. I truly miss ya'll, but real life's just too much fun to be stuck inside!

That said, back to Kuwait for me next week, and will then have to be a good girl and spend time studying for this Master's degree I'm supposed to be doing (just missed a month, unscheduled) alongside of moderating the super coollest forum ever.

Edit: If this note sounds a bit on the cheery side, that's 'cos I'm on holiday.

So, has Mark ever surfaced again after his haul-out in VZ?

Everyone has made light of Mark's location, but in 2006 we met a guy who had been attacked by robbers with machetes aboard his catamaran in that very area where Mark was visiting. The guy survived only because he girlfriend was a vet and knew how to staunch the heavy bleeding.

So, where is Mark now?
