El Faro - An Open Letter To Investigators – gCaptain

El Faro - An Open Letter To Investigators – gCaptain

This is a worthwhile read on the commercial pressures of operating ships on tight schedules.

Good to keep this in mind when insisting on your Sunday sailing rights.

These guys have enough on their plate .

Also good to know that these guys are willing to put those pressures aside to aid fellow mariners in trouble.. as did the Captain of the container ship Praia in my particular case. and many others in more perilous situations by saving lives that would otherwise be lost..

The first photograph accompanying the article shows an aircrewman walking across a runway carrying the life preserver from the El Faro--right in front of an incoming or departing USCG plane. Wow! This guy has a death wish.

That's a taxiway/parking ramp. Consider commenting on bowling or extreme ironing....

It appears that the aircraft in the picture has its props feathered, so its not moving and can't move.
