"Ghost Fishing" a major problem

We all know not to throw away used fishing lines due to the harm it can to do both fish and other animals, but I was not aware how big a problem commercial fishing gear that was lost is in the oceans.

People just dont know what we're doing, breaks my heart. Is it too late to fix the damage, is what i ask myself, plastic is a huge problem too.
