Re: I just cut 3 feet off my hair....

I do.

Short and zero are the best choices BUT long hair is so beautiful. I always tell people never to cut. Yes, I know I am selfish - mine has been zero for some 20 years now.

Hope you will like your new hair better!!! You are BRAVE to me!

Love,
b.

Re: I just cut 3 feet off my hair....

I am not a vain woman which is why I forgot pics, but I did find one from our boat hunting trip a couple of months ago. Im not big on flashing myself, but if you want to see the before and after, you can check my profile for the gallery "hair". I did the cutting with scissors and Jim evened up the back a bit for me.

Any way, I find hair very inconvenient. In my teens and 20s I DID buzz my hair. I loved the look, but its not so good on my 49 year old self. So I resorted to the grow and grow method of hair care. I think I like the new do better!

PS This Jim has never had the nerve to cut Ann's hair, although she has asked at times. I've listened to her criticisms of professional cuts, and can't imagine what she would say (or do) after I really botched the job!

No way I would trim my ladies hair.

Mine and the boys hair? As long I don't draw blood, I'm satisfied.

My hubby has trimmed my hair for over 30 years. It really is easy to do. I do not find long hair to be a problem on a boat but I am really careful to comb out standing on a cloth, then shaking the cloth out overboard. It is so easy to wrap my braid around my head, put on a bandanna, and a hat.

Sea Dreaming,

If you left it long enough to get in a pony tail, it'll be fine, and uses so much less water to wash.

Lately, here in Oz, in some of the more free thinking areas, grey haired women are proudly flaunting their manes, and many of them look just lovely. It is more common, though, to see dyed hair, which I think is impractical on a boat, but just my ho, looks hokey, costs a fair wee bit to maintain well.

No no no and just no to dye!
It was fine in my punk era (ya, a mo hawk in fir engine red)
But as a practical matter the sun does evil things to hair color, and, as you mentioned cost and impracticality on a boat too.
Of course, around here all the young things dye "granny grey". I swear its a thing!

That looks like a nice length. Not too short at all. Tell Jim he did a good job.
