Thought I'd post these pics just to torture those of you preparing for the forecasted "deep freeze" or digging out from the Nor'Easter in New England. I just moved back from Rhode Island, so feeling particularly smug... Note the attire...

Yeah, but the water's cold!

We "only" got 8" of snow here in South County. But I am only 2 miles from Narragansett Bay. At least in the summer, I can bike to the boat!

If you're a Rhode Island native, you'll be back eventually. New England always sucks her children back. It's some sort of vortex. I've tried to achieve escape velocity several times myself...

Yeah, well, we'll enjoy summer more...if it ever comes. Toronto Hydroplane and Sailing Club docks Dec. 31. The shot doesn't show the snow blowing across the ice in a 15-knot breeze.

Welllll... A California native... Bay Area... Lived the last 13 years in Jamestown RI, keeping the house for summers... The webcam shows about a foot of snow in the yard, and the thermometer tells the rest. I actually missed doing the First Day (Penguin) Plunge, but sailing is out of the question until about April...
