Looking For a Business Partner

So I was thinking that I wanted to accelerate my plan to go cruising. I thought if I could find someone of like mind, we could share the domestic responsibilities of an office and take turns cruising. I have a small structural engineering business in the pacific northwest. Can anyone imagine how I might search for someone like that?

Re: Looking for a business partner

From personal experience, I found a fabulous office manager about 14 years ago, so I married her. But as far as sharing the domestic duties, why would you want to do that?

You could run your business by proxy. It's not at all hard providing that you can find reliable internet services wherever you wind up.

You'll want to consider a few things however, ask yourself for instance if you could trust someone fully with running your business? Including ALL financials? If I were you, I'd strongly consider hiring a manager who knows the structural engineering trade and contract an accountant if you don't have one already.

I believe you've misread his post, Greg. I gathered that he would like to find someone in a situation similar to his own, and they would take turns using a single office when working on land and alternate the use of a single cruising vessel. That way, neither one has to go all in for either lifestyle.

I believe that posting on this website as well as several others that are focused on cruising would be your best bet. Typically, our desired lifestyle appeals to others, but they are not in the frame of mind to achieve it. What are you looking for? Someone who has worked in engineering before?
