The ultimate 'boater's home' may be a boat .. that's a home.
This real estate listing, in Au Gres, Michigan, sits on the shore of Lake Huron, and overlooks Saginaw Bay. The SS Huronia is a custom built home, designed to resemble a steamship, and boasts 1700 square feet of living space, with 5 bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms. It also includes 161 feet of waterfront.

Lost species appear alive again in Zoo of Extinct Animals

The “Zoo of Extinct Animals” is an AR experience, allowing viewers to interact with extinct wildlife.
Developed by Sebastian Koseda, the experience is a stark reminder of the effects of human activity.

Allowing its audience to observe, and interact, with extinct wildlife, the debut animal in the series is the Baiji river dolphin*, the first dolphin to be declared extinct, in 2006, due to fishing and pollution. There are five animals available to view [Pyrenean ibex, the West African black rhino, the Formosan clouded leopard and the Caribbean monk seal], through this experience, all of which have been declared extinct in the last 20 years, from causes such as habitat loss, pollution and global warming.

Nearly two-thirds of the world's wildlife population has been lost, over the past 50 years, according to a recent WWF report [1], and there are currently more than 38,500 species threatened with extinction, including 41% of amphibians, 37% of sharks and rays, 26% of mammals and 14% of birds.

* The baiji, nicknamed the "Goddess of the Yangtze," is a type of river dolphin. that was native to the Yangtze River, and the neighboring Qiantang River. It was declared functionally extinct in 2006, with the last verified sighting being of a pregnant female, in November 2001. The main cause of its extinction is thought to be habitat degradation, and the level to which it was being unintentionally caught, by local fisheries.

Re: Nautical Oddities

A loose barge got blown into the seawall, near Sunset Beach, on Monday afternoon, as heavy winds hit Metro Vancouver, following an atmospheric river rainstorm.
The storm, that has hit much of the province. has battered Vancouver, with the city closing Stanley Park, and the Seawall, for fear of strong waves in the area.

Re: Nautical Oddities

I hadn't either. Here's what Wiki has to say,

"An atmospheric river (AR) is a narrow corridor or filament of concentrated moisture in the atmosphere. Other names for this phenomenon are tropical plume, tropical connection, moisture plume, water vapor surge, and cloud band.[1][2]

Atmospheric rivers consist of narrow bands of enhanced water vapor transport, typically along the boundaries between large areas of divergent surface air flow, including some frontal zones in association with extratropical cyclones that form over the oceans.[3][4][5][6] Pineapple Express storms are the most commonly represented and recognized type of atmospheric rivers; they are given the name due to the warm water vapor plumes originating over the Hawaiian tropics that follow various paths towards western North America, arriving at latitudes from California and the Pacific Northwest to British Columbia and even southeast Alaska.[

I guess an air river is bigger than a jet stream?

Malena: The skyscraper superyacht concept

Measuring 110 meters, Malena is designed in the style of a high-rise apartment building, with a symmetrical superstructure consisting of balconies stretching across both sides of its decks and along the middle.
Made of steel and aluminum, the vessel will be fitted with huge exterior spaces in order to encourage outdoor living, as well as a hydraulic swimming platform that provides easy access to the ocean.
