Pacific weather patterns

Sorry this post is in an odd spot, I couldnt decide where to put it.

Anyway we have been watching 2 weather patterns in the Pacific, east of Mexico for the past week on this site.
https://earth.nullschool.net/#curren...115.854,11.815

These patterns have been shifting back and forth for the past week, one intensifying, the other weakening. Today, one is a class 4 hurricane "Blas".

These two systems almost looked to be "permanent" earlier this week as, aside from trading intensity, they don't move and, until today, they has winds no higher than 35 kmph. Since, I don't know anything, this seemed "reasonable".

But, in the effort to know more, whats going on here? Why do these systems seem to stay in place? Are these two swirlung masses actually "permanent " ?

I have lots more questions but I just realized I have to go to work...
Call this "stupid question 5" but I dont want to steal the thunder from those threads!
