pet poop on the hook

Good day to all! I want to take my 10 and 25 lb. dogs cruising. The only way I can think of taking care of pet poop is to lay out a training pad which is like a diaper that sits in a plastic tray. I have had success with these on land but think the diaper portion will pose a disposal problem while on the hook.

That's exactly what we use for a ten pound dog. Just put the used pads in a plastic bag until you can dispose of them properly. You can put the poop in the head and flush it. Or throw it overboard where it will join the poop of birds, fish and marine animals.

Many use a carpet remnant.

Teach them to dump on a spot on the deck where you won't accidentally step in it, scoop it up and toss overboard, wash with a bucket of water.

The problem with that is you are teaching the dog to poop and pee on a carpet. This could be a problem if you have carpet in your home or a friend's home.

We use a faux-grass doormat, cut to fit, and zip-tied on one end to an upside-down rubbermaid tub lid. Works like a charm, for both pee and poo, and gets rinsed overboard. Scrub the tub lid occasionally to remove pee deposits.

We tried that. The puppy chewed on the "grass". Didn't poop or pee on it. Puppy pads work but you do have to change them and dispose of them.
