Whats the use of the Bible? Won't God (et al) have taken all the righteous? Its a bit late for (YOU) sinners?

I expect to be in the tier not taken to heven (with virgins if I was Muslim) but to languish on a ribald Earth, having to survive and lap up a bit of global Gommorah....

It could be tough ....

Best advice I ever saw on the subject was this:

Chris Lisle, 2005
"Preparing for peak oil can be relatively easy, since the preparation is 75 percent mental, 15 percent physical, and 10 percent fiscal. Don't be flabbergasted at what to do. Quit asking should I buy solar? Should I buy an axe? Should I buy a gun? The answers are no, no, and no... This feeling of a need to buy stuff is in fact the very reason why we have this predicament. We over consume. The preparation problem is not addressed by buying more stuff; it's addressed by mentally and physically getting used to the idea of getting by on less stuff."

Ummm you'd do better with a couple of pulp novels. Bible paper is too crinkly to make good bumwipe. Not to mention its a boring read before you turn it into bumwipe.

I dare say that if things go blooey, those of us at sea or far away from what we laughing call civilization will be better off. We may not live any longer but the idea of 2.2million starving Torontonians rampaging around my neighbourhood makes bobbing round like a cork 1o miles off shore seem like the way to go.

+1 on all the nubile breeding stock comments. Especially the one about locks n ear plugs.

With 2.2 well fed Torontonians run around the boat seems like the way to go!

Rhum

OK. Then rhum seems very high on the end of the world list.

But - how do we make rum?

I know how to make bush beer of mangoes and cheap wine of forest berries.

I imagine one chews the cane and spits it out and then it ferments. But how do we get the amberish-caramelish colour?

When you boil the sugar cane you burn it like molasses, or scald it like butterscotch or say the hell with it and make straight cane alcohol

caramel is just burned sugar... butterscotch is less burnt sugar... molasses is burned cane .. blackstrap is the gunk onthe bottom of the container used for the making of molasses.... or rum..... or refined sugar----

The bible will be needed at the service to marry one of those nubile virgins

However, you might have problems finding a minister of the cloth, but should be plenty of bankers around, they always seem to survive, just like cockroaches.
