Reason #44 Why Summer is Better Than Winter

Changing two tires in a gas station parking lot a half an hour from home in July heat is sweaty. Changing two tires in a gas station parking lot a half an hour from home in February cold is just plain painful....

I'm not saying this to be mean but them there tires should have been changed quite awhile ago. it could have saved you the headaches of changing tires in the freezing cold. keep safe at sea and also on the highways

You are absolutely right, courageous. No excuses.
I asked SWMBO what happened, and all I got in reply was a wide eyed look of innocence and a shrug. I asked her if she had been checking the tires once a week like I suggested, and I got "welll, sort of. I check the left side, but i never check the right because it is hard to get to it with all the snow at the curb, and stuff." Guess which tire blew?

I should have been monitoring whether she was monitoring her tires.

Something tells me she simply hastened the demise of a dying tire by hitting a pothole.

Winter kills alot of trees, plants and animals. They freeze to death. Sailors can't sail and if it get's really cold their engine block freezes and has to be replaced during the sailing season, resulting in no sailing time.

A lot of northerners are moving to my area of coastal NC. Keep going south. Winter here is real. It doesn't have to be the arctic to stop outside work for several months. Can't glue, paint, glass, etc. What that leaves is a little too much time for daytime adult beverages for most of us hard core don't have/don't want a real job ever again types. First time in my life I ever needed a heater in a boat. Call me a winter weinie wussy wimp. No worries.
