March???? Zee...don't forget the big blows can happen as early as June!! You do not want to be in those waters after that and Panama is a "fer piece" from Mazatlan, ya' know?

Happy birthday, Hayzus! And a very Merry Xmas to all you Xmasians! Here in La Paz, being a family-oriented catholic place, Xmas is an even bigger deal than back in Lost Angels. There is a kiddie carnival for two weeks before the big day to jack up the excitement for wee ones even higher. Here's a few holiday pics for youse guys.

I really like having an aquarium under my boat.

Here's wishing all you folks a very happy, safe and adventurous New Year. Jon

Talking In Nassau

Hi all you single sailors!

Just a quick update while I still have wifi available. I last left you in Bimini. I was trapped there by weather 2+ days longer than I had planned. My sons met me there on Christmas day, and we hung out until Tuesday, when the wild winds finally settled down. We started at noon, and arrived at Athol island off Nassau at 11 the next morning, and anchored out. We took the route from Bimini to North Rock, to Mackie shoal, to NW shoal light, to NW channel light, then across the tongue. The trip was uneventful, saw almost no other boats; the winds were light and gusty, so we motor sailed the whole way, and used less than half a tank.

I saw the boys (men actually) off mid-day yesterday, and my next crew met me that afternoon. We tried to leave this morning, but true to form, my engine had a problem. It overheated before we even got away from the marina! Turned out it was bad bearings in the water pump. Luckily I had a spare one on board, and the marina had a mechanic available to put it in (on New Year's eve no less!) So we're set to leave tomorrow for Allen's Cay in the Exumas! Yay!

A story to make all you freezing at home wishing you were sailing just a bit wistful. There's always good news and bad news, but at lest for me it's happening here.

Since this is the SSSSM group, I'll add my pitch. I have room on my boat for a companion/crew to join me in my travels. Someone who wants a full service mate. I'm out here doin' it, and you could come along.

Happy New Year!!

Love,
Margo

Happy old and new

Happy New year to all of the SSSSM crowd Zee is correct in that dreams can/do come true but it all takes some effort. My past year has been the best that I've enjoyed in a very long time and I hope to continue the momentum through 2011. I enjoyed, accomplished, and laughed a lot and all of you were part of that, so I thank you and my best wishes for you and your happiness in the coming year.
