Glad that we can poke some fun at each other - now about single-handing up the NW coast, there are others on this forum with more local knowledge, so factor it in and BE SAFE. I'd be seriously bummed if that hat washed up on shore.

My boys and I used to have a saying: "do all the crazy **** you want, and live to tell about it". Take pictures and we'll look for the trip report next week.

a hat washing onto shore is ok--they can fly off anytime--but anything else--- no. so--keep yer hand on the helm and the other .......and go for it--lol--- fair winds and stay dry......i cant say following seas--they dont go that way...and , if ye pee over the side, at least wear a short tether.......

It's a metaphor, OK?

Can't you hear the somber music, as you sadly pick up his cap on a pebbly beach, then look up, out, onto the now-calm sea, as a single tear rolls down your cheek?

Me neither - that's why Thomas has to BE SAFE.

I am feeling rather guilty right this minute for not being able to help him out.

On a lighter thought, I hope if he heads west to get some sleep he doesn't wake up in Japan.

What's that? Hawaiian noises!
Bangin' on the bongos like a chimpanzee!

Ya'll get extra credit if you can name the musical reference w/o resorting to Google, etc.

this thread goes anywhere it wants to go --is all about getting to know folks... so has a bunch of lee way....
john--what i had flash thru my bean when i read your post was... yup-- he took the coordinates f the place the hat flew off, and as i pick it up out of the sand, he is walking towards the very spot i found it and bows. holds out his hand and say.." nice hat ye found, there. looks like the one i had fly away a couple of days ago---- lets have coffee... thankyou for finding it!"

now-- there is no reason for him to not be ok--he is crazy, like us, and he is sailing north on the west coast. lol. he will be fine.
he might freeeze his butt off and be wet as hail, but he will do fine.
he will post pix and tell us all about his adventure.
(or we will make him do it again,,)(oops--did i say that out loud??)

isnt the prize the ability to hang out here with all of usn's??

lolvvvv

Mark and Emmy Lou...lots of great music to listen to...not alot of sailing as I don't have the tools to do it alone with my boat. Will work on it this winter.
Socializing might be a good idea too to find crew.
Must be drinkin too much.
I do like the comradely here though...cept whats with all the cats and dogs of late.
