Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

jon...come down this direction first then decide if ye want to run bashing into gods wrath.is a wet, cold, and nasty trip....i swore in 1991 that i would never again sail north in pacific...lol at least not off kali....
is actually green here, not desert....and no extremes in temps..just humidity....
ye ought to try it before doing something as rash as sailing bashville......

We've got some true adrenalin junkies here! Haha.
Can't you get north by way of Hawaii?

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Well, there are 3 reasons being north helps me, medical access to the VA, family access and putting the Rose where she will be appreciated by buyers. Not to mention, a delta slip is $250 vs 600+ here. If she doesn't sell at a good price I still have a decent abode for zilch rent and Delta and SF Bay sailing. Maybe I'll cross, Zee, before I go, if I go when my recent fixes hold-up and the engine is solid, I mean. Still, no one I know has done the clipper route to SF, they just motor up the coast. Might be a good voyage and would take mucho less petrol but a bit more time.

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

clipper route is less rough on boat, theoretically, and has more fullmoon open ocean. less bashing more sailing like a gentleman.

would love to meet you, jon.... hopefully all is good on your trip and smooth sailing prevails....

Moved on the boat last Saturday, was 10 degrees and was woken to ice scraping my hull...yuck. Warm weather will be welcome none to soon! Im staying warm with a radiator heater with another ceramic fan heater blowing though the radiator right at me! Suprizingly it's about 65 in here right now but the head is cacacacold!
