Is your crew/mechanic still with you? Are your friends still in Zihua?

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

So happy you made it Zee. How goes the "to-do" list on the Formosa?

Chin up, the further south you go, the better it gets!

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

my to do list keeps growing as i sail...LOL
i now have motor mounts to stiffen, packing gland to again address, and fuel tank is too small, water too big--i think i be changing that priority.. and.....fuel pick up and sail tracks -- rusty fasteners, as they prolly werent stainless.....

however, this boat sails awesome well--we got 3 kts in a 6 kt breeze, with all 3 sails up.
hooyaahhh!!!!
i should be here until march to mid april.

btw--meouwry treesmass, from bubba daboatkat...

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

Not sure how available they are in those parts, but you can buy simply awesome pre-made fuel tanks to fit almost any space. Failing that, a local welder can fashion one for you. It's always nice to have a little more fuel on board. I've got 400 gal on Mariah and it's nice....assuming the engine is running and the boat is on the water and not on the hard! <sigh>

Re: SSSSM - Part Deux

tom--i agree with ye-i may find a fab man for anew tank--i also have to address the pick up and return--some kind of leaking air thing, and the pick up isnt correct--is on top of tank!!! so i have much to do before i leave zihuat and head out for a repair of packing gland yet again.....
