Re: Successful Launch,Or Not? Video.

Same rule as airplanes, right?

A good landing: Nobody gets hurt.

A great landing: You can reuse the airplane.

Looks like the guy inside was OK, and the boat looks reusable. Therefore a successful launch.

They also got bonus points for style.

Well that looks like fun. I think I need one of those. I would say it was a successful launch

Re: Successful Launch,Or Not? Video.

A new lifeboat was just designed and released for commercial use. It was design to withstand a freefall of 150 feet, from offshore oil rigs. It was succesfully tested from 201 feet. Each seat had 210 pounds strapped in to it, and none of the seats broke!

One heckuva ride! Google it and you can se the pix.

Haven't looked, but I can't imagine how well a body is gonna react to the shock of the lifeboat hitting water from that height. Seat might not break, but what about ME?! Gotta be a heckuva deceleration on impact.

Edit: This one?

Amazing flip!

Notice the quick self righting.

Imagine the wind catching it, and it landing not pointy end first, but on it's side
