Add to that unusual names in languages other than English too!

"Conejo" (rabbit) in some latin coutries.

Or the word used in this video clip:

Oh you got me!!

True story here. We were driving up to The Rock to go sailing and we stopped in a garage in Nova Scotia for a tire repair. My younger brother brought his windsurfer. The mechanic was from Newfoundland and asked what that thing on the car roof was. My brother explained.
The mechanic said, as dry as only a Newfie can, “better watch oot some rube doont shoot yer sail out”

I learned to windsurf that trip. The cold water was a wonderful motivator. Never fall in!!!

Despite having a whole aisle of VB, MB, Carlton Draught and XXXX* there was not a stubbie of Fosters to be seen.
Their web site doesn't list it - only some thing called 'Fosters Light Ice' which is listed as 'out of stock' right across the business.

* Surprisingly XXXX had two pallets width of aisle.
For the furriners - XXXX is some xxxx out of Queensland so named because the people up there can't spell xxxx.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

I don't get this "light" beer thing.....
Here in the US, you can get Amstel " light"...but not regular Amstel ????

I remember when getting "Coors" beer used to be a thing....as it was not widely distributed...now off course...it's "Coors light"....

You can also get bottled water here called "Bud light"
