Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

Many people don't realize that light bulbs don't radiate light, rather they absorb darkness. Older folks may remember when formerly incandescent bulbs ceased functioning the bulb was all dark inside, proving that the darkness from outside was absorbed into the bulb.

That the new LED lights don't show this same phenomena is due to Quantum physics, i.e., the Bose-Einstein theory of matter-energy particle condensation. The darkness absorbed has been quantumly reduced to a condensed state that due to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle makes viewing difficult.

To any troll nitpickers: This is a joke! YMMV, not responsible for any Earth-shattering consequences if the Higgs Boson is misapplied in enjoying this JOKE.

Re: The 2021 & 2022 Joke Threads

(Historical preface: During the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway many workers were imported from China and then left to fend for themselves once the railway was complete. Prejudice made finding work difficult for them, and their reaction was often to start up small businesses. As a result many small western Canadian towns had Chinese restaurants and laundries.)

So I was quite curious when, in a Saskatchewan town, I noticed a storefront with a sign saying "Ole Olsen, Chinese Laundry". I entered, saw a fellow of oriental appearance behind the counter, and asked if he was the owner. He assured me he was and then, seeing my confusion, explained:

'When coming through immigration I was in line behind a big Swede. They asked him his name and he replied "Ole Olsen." Then they turned to me and asked me my name - I said "Sam Ting." So my Canadian name has been Ole Olsen ever since.'

I recently adopted two kittens, brothers Butch and Sundance. Every day is an experience.

Not a joke. “Ocean bound” in this use is simply a marketing term for the cap plastic that is made from material sourced from plastic recovered from the ocean. Ocean bound really means plastic in the ocean, which this Windex bottle may become. https://certifications.controlunion....-bound-plastic

The Ocean Cleanup https://theoceancleanup.com/ is an organisation that catches ocean bound plastic and makes it available for reuse.
