Poetry for Mathematicians


I
wrote
a poem
on a page
but then each line grew
to the word sum of the previous two
until I began to worry about all these words coming with such frequency
because as you can see, it can be easy to run out of space when a poem gets all Fibonacci sequency

I noticed El Ping is back in Oz, and his luggage isn't. It reminded me of Jim's sister, and what happened to her one time.

She was buying her ticket at the desk in the airport (this was some time ago, I admit), and said, "I want you to book me from Chicago to Hobart, Tasmania, in Australia." And in due course it was accomplished. She then said, "I want to you send my luggage to Petropavlosk; the Seychelles; Tanzania; and Hobart."
