Extra motivation to get the boat back on her feet and ensure she doesn't sink.

I would give a similar explanation when people were surprised to learn that the US Navy did not actually require every sailors to know how to swim.

The Defense Attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair...!!
