THESE ARE STRAIGHT OUT OF AMAZON IF YOU TYPE: “WOMEN CHRISTMAS GIFT”

I was looking for ideas what to give my wife… somebody must have a sick sense of humor or I continue to be clueless after all these years

Enjoying the first day of winter. Tonight's forecast to have -40 F wind chills which means I would definitely desire to stand much nearer to the fire to roast marsh mellows.

Trivia of the day: no need to specify which temperature scale, it's going to be -40 C as well.

Indeed at those low numbers there is near equivalence.

F stands for Freezzzing!!!

C stands for Ccccoolllddd!!!!

Yesterday I did an F to C reference conversion look up for discussion with one of my UK based engineers, and was surprised to see that they are approximately the same valued; his home was without heat because of condensing pipe for his boiler ran through a non-conditioned loft space and froze. The UK is having a white Christmas too. He said there was a lot of slip sliding about and crashes as drivers are not experienced with snow and ice covered roads and most do not have 4WD or AWD. Snow and ice being the norm for about 5 months each year and never have had a "snow day" at our schools in 30 years.

<pedant mode on>

But what about Kelvin
Without the ° symbol, the logical assumption would be K since both F and C should have it according to SI.

And before anyone jumps on the issue of a negative Kelvin:
"A system with a truly negative temperature on the Kelvin scale is hotter than any system with a positive temperature.

But only on really cold days.
Compare 30°C day to a 30°F day.
Or worse 86°F to 86°C
