First time I ever saw someone suck a snail out of it's shell was in some bar somewhere in Marseilles, I nearly barfed....
It's gotta be cultural thing...seriously.....people eat those things ???

Oh, yum! I think it's all the garlic and butter. Possibly not something craved by a Scot.

Scots have their own peculiarities....like "haggis"

Haggis is a savory Scottish pudding that's Scotland's national dish:
Ingredients
Minced sheep's heart, liver, and lungs, also known as "pluck", mixed with beef or mutton suet, oatmeal, onion, and spices like cayenne and nutmeg
Preparation
The mixture is packed into a sheep's stomach or artificial casing and boiled

Since this is the joke thread, just let me mention this:

Haggis, neeps and tatties.

It's true that most famous Scottish foods somewhere in the past all began with a dare!

I've heard that the game of curling was invented when a Scot threw his wife's haggis out the window and it slid across a frozen pond ...

Some years back when I was in Scotland, my host was vastly insulted that I wouldn't try his homemade haggis.
Adding fuel to the flame, I was adamant that no amount of beer could wash that down

England's answer to Haggis.. the delicious Faggot.
Commonly, a faggot consists of minced pork liver and heart, wrapped in bacon, with onion and breadcrumbs. Often, the faggot is cooked in a crock with gravy and served with peas and mashed potato. The mixture is shaped by hand into small balls, wrapped with caul fat (the omentum membrane from the pig's abdomen), and baked. Faggots may also be made with beef.[8]

Another variation of the faggot is pig's fry (testicles) wrapped in pig's caul: the pig's fry and boiled onions are minced (ground) together, then mixed with breadcrumbs or cold boiled potatoes, seasoned with sage, mixed herbs and pepper, all beaten together and then wrapped in small pieces of caul to form a ball. They are baked in the oven, and usually served cold.[9]

Now we know why the Brits conquered the world - they were trying to get away from English cooking

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Raw Rocky Mountain Oysters, slide them down whole with a gulp of beer as bar counter treats.

Celebratory food upon making of steers.

Re: The 2021 -2024 and Continuing Joke Threads

snails ? haggis ? faggots ? bulls balls ?

I'm starting to wonder about some of y'all here.

Mind you, I'm particularly fond of conch....which, for those that aren't familiar with it, is a rather large snail, about the size of one's fist, that resides in it's own shell on the ocean floor. I will gladly dig into conch, no matter how it's prepared.

But....back to the jokes......
