To the best of my knowledge they’re all genuine but the Reagan ciggy looks like a really bad photoshop. There are many ,many more available using google images search.

The above advertisement was run, in 1952, by Liggett and Myers*, the makers of Chesterfield cigarettes.
In the ad, young Ronald Regan promotes Chesterfield* "Christmas-themed" cigarettes.
Though he had been paid to make smoking cool, Reagan eventually quit smoking himself after his brother developed cancer from smoking.

* The makers, Liggett and Myers, also acquired many other hollywood endorsers, such as Barbara Stanwyck, Gary Cooper, and Claudette Colbert.

I don’t know if any of you watched the memorial service for Ronald Reagan, but if you did, you might’ve noticed Bill and Hillary were both dozing off.

Reagan, who never missed the opportunity for a good one-liner, raised his dead head out of the casket, and said: “I see the Clintons are finally sleeping together”

Oh dear - Radium GIRLS?

perhaps Radium WOMEN?

or Radium people of indeterminate gender?

Not meaning to derail this otherwise very enjoyable discussion

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Re: The 2021 Joke Thread

Growing up, my friends and I would scrounge up the majestic sum of 0.05c.......to buy a 10 pack of Lexington ciggies...the add " after action, satisfaction, ....Lexington, that's the one !!" made us all rebels, still remember it to this day... We'd pass a ciggy around 5-6 of us, take 2-3 drags each, blow smoke rings and be the coolest dudes in town...that 10 pack would last us 2-3 weeks.

My first trip to the USA...back in 1976, I think..you could still smoke on an airplane...the cabin was divided into " smoking" and "non-smoking" sections....the venerable Boeing 707...ah yes, the memories...

Fortunately my childhood habits didn't stick with me....

I'm so glad I quit smoking at age 13 a.

Lol, that brought back memories of being a 12 year old Scottish immigrant to St Albert, Alberta.

Being put in a class with students older than I and with my accent a novelty,I sort-of became popular.

I was being befriended by the tougher smoking crowd, tried it privately, gagged, almost threw up and decided to avoid embarrassing myself.

So I formed this no smoking crowd of cool guys and girls who agreed that smoking was disgusting and tasted bad when necking.

It was a great school of academic students and the no smoking club became popular with the majority of about 400 students.

St. Peter was complaining about how hard it was to get the Pearly Gates renovated especially the part about having to go down to hell to find a contractor...

Re: The 2021 Joke Thread

Like others here, smoking didn't do anything for me. I thought the taste was disgusting and drawing smoke into my lungs defied logic, but being a young derring-do rebel I had to give it a go.

I also tried "beer" in my young rebel days..sad to say, this habit has stuck with me.

I sometimes get smokers on my boat, but they have to stand by the stern in order to enjoy their vice.

Beer drinkers, however, get a free pass and are allowed to sit in the cockpit.
