The fun thing about gps...

Most everyone has had the unsettling experience of sailing 'over' land using a GPS chart. Small misalignments, maybe a channel being a few yards off or something.

A friend took this photo while driving in California...

I did a contrary thing once - sailed using "dryland" TomTom GPS & paper charts.
It worked fine ! since that time I am in doubt about chartplotter necessity on board
