Re: The Haiku Thread

What's with the potshots from the chasers? Giv'm another broadside, boys!

Sailors at the bar,
spinning yarns of sea and storm;
Some of which are true.

Trip to the chandlers,
shopping list went by the board;
kitty all gone now.

Shrouds, chainplates, stays, mast;
many things to check and fix.
Harken rich; you poor.

Compass spinning 'round,
to swing it forget you did.
Where the hell are we?

Loud shouts from the helm,
much merriment on the dock;
your crew ignores you.

Ok, one at a time then...

Boom crunch crash smash bash,
crack smack whack; blubb glubb gloop bloop!
Next time, use fenders.

Tanker dead ahead,
reciprocal course, ten knots.
Fog. No radar. Carp.

Half a ton of rice.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea.
Purser; you are through.

Rowing dinghy to the shore,
Rowlock fails on top of crest,
Wet and sandy, sailors arrive.

Head hatch left ajar;
paper soaking, light kaputt.
Fix it, Goldfinger.

Who has right of way?
Fisher, tug, sail or ferry?
Browning fifty wins.

No snoozing on watch!
Coffee, music and a pipe?
Your beard is on fire.
