Too Funny !

As I was looking at boats for sale I came accross an ad for a Pearson on sailboatlistings.com. This is the only picture of the boat, and it is the one you see with the ad title. I wonder how many potential buyers there are out there that would look at the ad and say "I found my next boat"

1965 Pearson Alberg 35 sailboat for sale in Outside United States

Unfortunately all I can do is copy the link. I can't figure out how to just post the pic. Any help would be appreciated.

She's a beauty!!! The color of the sail cover even matches the other canvas - Not.

But...they're on the water, and are probably enjoying themselves if the relaxed looking dude by the mast is any indication!

Yeah, at least it being used. All I've ever done with my boat is work on it. I'm tired and I want to sail even if my boat looks like crap. I wore out a pair of shoes in this boatyard in 5 weeks walking back & fort looking for hardware and pieces.

Re: Too Funny !

I am not sure if you guys are serious or taking the mickey but hey it floats, has completed a circumnavigation, has reasonably current engine that obviously works, has a dinghy and plenty of fenders.

I have no idea if the price is good or bad but here is a boat that could get someone cruising.

Me either; I can't figure why the pic is "too funny"...unless it's just garden variety snobbishness. The boat would be solid glass, much better than today's sandwich, and it's well fendered. Maybe the fenders are just too cheap for some tastes.

Re: Too Funny !

Always useful to have a couple of tyres onboard - especially if someone comes alongside with 2 mini fenders deployed.

They don't half put folks off rafting up to you at a quay as well.... dead handy if its an early start...

Panama Canal fenders. Thats why theres extra crew. Those fenders are required to go through.

Well, thats what I reckon

Don't forget the obvious.

When your running with the gale they make a great drogue. So I've heard or read!
I like their gumption. Forget what others say or think I'm going sailing.

Re: Too Funny !

Get in a yelling match with a pilot in the Suez canal over extra "fees" and you'll wish you had tires for fenders.

Re: Too Funny !

Mark is probably right, if they just came through the canal. Ha....ha indeed. The joke's on who? Looks to me like they have ACTUALLY been cruising, not sitting at some yacht club dock, ogling the other mostly unused, shiny, pretentious status symbols.

Re: Too Funny !

Obviously those are temporary fenders. Note line, tape, or padding to clear topside paint. Maybe that's a smart pic to put in an ad: looking for a weekend barbie yacht/toy or an ocean-goiing vessel? Sure beats trying to clean a big white fender coated with creosote. I have a couple of real ugly large fenders and am on the lookout for a couple of more.
