What Do Fish Do When Its Raining?

Sometimes I wish we'd stayed in the sea
instead of climbing this Darwinian tree
kept our scales and our tails and our gills
and our sails and our colourful fishy frills


Learned to sing like a whale or bark like a seal
squirk like a dolphin or shock like an eel
Do giant backflips like an itchy manta ray
or like a sunfish, cruise around all day


We wouldn't need mortgages to keep us afloat
we wouldn't need castles, we wouldn't need moats
come to think of it, we wouldn't need boats
Life might be damp, but it'd be entertaining
and we'd never have to ask what fish do when its raining.
