This is just like WWII the other countries in the world won't do anything unless the U.S.A. agrees to back them.

I'd like to think the US places a certain amount of value on the lives of it's citizens. I also think there is some politics that will be involved. If squashing some Somalis helps get some official (re)elected, then it will get done. For the most part I'd agree with you, but hopefully in this case it's not entirely about money.

Isn't attacking a US flagged vessel the same as attacking US soil?

what i fail to understand why does the west support "freedom fighters"
and demonise "terrorists"

support corrupt regimes like egypt,bharain etc

and invade places like afganistan and iraq.

surely the presedent is there for a "restabilzation of somalia",who know there might even be oil there?

So WW11 didn't start until the U.S. "helped"

Of course the Somali pirates should be hung drawn and quartered.
Maybe in few years they might become one of the worlds superpowers.

A thief is a thief, throw in kidnapping, murder, extortion--there is no rational for crimes of terror. If akmed or whomever conducts this kind of behavior a single bullet to the head is what is called for.

"freedom fighters" are fighting against Dictators so they can have a Democratic type Government.

"terrorists" attack every one,for misguided purposes.

Egypt=Gold/Oil=MONEY
Afghanistan=world largest producers of Heroine=MONEY
Iraq=Oil=MONEY

Somalia=ZERO/NOTHING/NADDA

Somalia. I think I have heard this name mentioned in reguards to an American soldier being killed and drug through the streets naked. Something also about a Black Hawk helicopter being shot down too. Warlords stealing the food given to the people by us also rings a bell. Me feel sorry for the pirates? Aaaargh not today mateys

So....in other words, doing greatly evil deeds is justified by perceived previous evil deeds being done to you. Where has this lead the human race so far? Where does personal responsibility figure in? Just why has this part of the world been so poor for so long and why can't they stop behaving like f#@$ing savages and do something to change their condition for the better? Are we responsible for everyone? I am so tired of the liberal "America is guilty" line. We send billions in aid, in many forms, to try to encourage growth in these places and they spit in our faces and continue to wallow in ignorance and cruelty. The sailors have NOTHING to do with the plight of Somalia. Taking hostages is just simply wrong no matter what excuse you may make.

"shock and awe" a sad term for an unneeded slaughter.
