Ahoy! from Salacia

Hi,
New member, long time lurker, we have recently(April) acquired our first boat, an Endurance 44 conventionally built from timber to 46', cutter rigged.
Plan to start with some short local cruising in and off shore and see where we go from there.

Re: Ahoy! from Salacia

Welcome aboard CF, SYSalacia, and a happy & prosperous New Years to you!

We are Jim and Ann from Insatiable II [modern composite construction: western red cedar coved strip planks, glassed in and out], lying Port Cygnet, TAS.

Re: Ahoy! from Salacia

Thanks for the welcome Ann (and Jim).
I love your choice in vessel, I was keen on a Sayer 43 called Slice of Heaven but unfortunately the timing was not right and that boat sailed without us.
After whetting our apetites cruising the West coast of Tassie we added Pilothouse with inside steering option to our list and ended up with Salacia.
Looking forward to further adventures down there in the not too distant future.

Yes, we looked at Slice just after they'd finished her. Nice boat.

If you think you might like to settle in Tassie, you will be very glad of the pilothouse and inside steering. There are useful times of settled weather when it is very cold here to us.

It will be cool to see you come sailing up to Cygnet some time.

Hi,
I'm not sure if we will settle in Tassie, we are pretty happy at the southern end of Port Phillip Bay, however we are definitely planning to spend a lot of boat time there. Cygnet is definitely on our destination list.
