pirate Ahoy there!

Hello everyone, my name is Morten and I'm from the beutiful but cold Norway.
I own a Offshore 8 designed by Van der Stadt. I lvoe sailing even tho Im rather green still, just been sailing for 2 years. I've been sailing around and right outside the Oslo fjord in Norway only yet, but see to change that next year when I will venture out on the open sea.

I have a youtube channel if that interrest someone:
SY Headwind - YouTube

The first videoes I made we talk Norwegian but we vent to talk English afther a few videoes on request.
Since winter is upon me I was surfing around the web and found this site and hope to be using it talking, looking and learning.

Im a great fan of Captain Jarle Andhøy and have had the privelige to meet and talk to him. I'm inspired by adventure and have the feeling that I should sail on my own adventure soon.

Please, if anyone wants to talk to me feel free to send me a msg, I always apreciate people and making new friends, other than that I see you on the Forums and maybee on the water.

Self proclaimed Captain Morten.
(Sorry for all the typO's)

It's good to have you here on the forum.
Your spelling and typos are ok. Many of us English speakers make lots of mistakes too.

Thanks SkiprJohn.

I can't be other than a little envy of your location. I used 3 houres with my snowblower today. Hawaii would surely be a nice palce to be right now.

Re: Ahoy there!

I'll post you a Christmas picture Seaworthy Lass

The good thing about snow is that since it get's so early dark up here the snow keeps it a little lighter when the moon's out. With and around a full moon we could see clear shadows making even a trip trough the woods easy and adventures.

Re: Ahoy there!

Thank you Mark1977 and casual. I just wrote a long story on that Sailors conffesions forum thing. Took longer than I expected.

Mark1977: I see you are from Canada, how did Cpt. Andhøys adventure trough the northwest passage be presented in the papers or news over there?

Re: Ahoy there!

Greetings again all. My old boat SY Headwind are sold to tow great guys from Trøndelag Norway. I'm confident they will treat the boat well and sail here in to new adventures. For my part, I have bought myself a new and slighly bigger boat. It's a Mamba 311. Under you could se the first glimpses of here. She's called "Jolly Dodger"

Im looking forward to sail here however, I'm still waiting for the Ice to break up.

Re: Ahoy there!

Welcome, Morten. My wife went on a church mission trip to Norway and loved your country.
Here in the South Texas coast we have no ice! As a matter of fact we had no freeze this winter. We sail every month.
Enjoy the CF, they are great.
