pirate Alaskan Armchair Sailor

Greetings all,

I'm an armchair sailor from Alaska. Unfortunately, I haven't finagled my own boat yet, but I'm definitely planning on it someday. I've been lurking around here for years, and have found the forums immensely informative. I've also memorized catalogs, read books, studied manuals, etc. My career has hitherto been as an IT engineer, so complex technical systems are my bread and butter. I also grew up working on vehicles, so I've got decent mechanical chops too.

I'm glad I finally found something worthwhile to contribute, and registered an account. I look forward to participating as I can!

Hi, we have sailed extensively out of Seward and in Prince William Sound. It is spectacular cruising. Hope you can get out to enjoy the rugged beauty and the incredible sea life there!

Re: Alaskan Armchair Sailor

Yes I've done a quite a few day trips out of Seward and Whittier for fishing or sightseeing, sadly never on a sailboat. It is beautiful and there's quite a lot of islands and coastline to explore.
