Aloha and Ahoy

Hello everyone. My name is Randy and I'm out in Hawaii for right now. I have been in the US NAVY for 23 years and about to retire. About 9 months ago I finally talked my wife into agreeing to buy a sailboat for us. We have had great fun with it and are getting better at sailing it every day. I am looking forward to talking with others and getting some help and insight on several matters with the boat. We are planning to sail it back to the mainland and around through to the east coast again later this year. Any advice o help would be appreciated. Otherwise I plan to let everyone know how great it was.

Randy

Welcome to the forum Randy. My friend down here in La Paz has one. Nice boat and roomy!

Aloha and welcome aboard!
Good to have you posting here. I've done the sail to the mainland you plan to do and in fact the Navy paid for it back in '84. Joint Travel Regs was a good thing to research.
If you'll be retiring first then that may not apply. Again, there is some research involved.
I retired from Pearl Harbor in '91 and was quite involved with the Oahu sailing community prior to that time.
Post your questions in the appropriate forum/thread here and you'll get lots of answers.
kind regards,
