Smile Aloha everyone!

Aloha everyone!
Being part of this community is a big step for me.
It has long since been a dream of mine to live on a liveaboard yacht. I’m looking at a few on YachtWorld that I like, but am unfamiliar with what constitutes a quality boat and what pitfalls might be inherent in certain years or models. I don’t actually plan to travel much with it except along the PNW.

Your thoughts and recommendations are warmly welcome. 😊

Re: Aloha everyone!

Hi, Catrina.

My recommendations:
- As you find boats you like on YachtWorld, search for online reviews of those boats to find others' opinions on its good and bad qualities.
- Study Marine Survey 101 for help in learning some key details to watch for when boat shopping. Marine Survey 101, pre-survey inspection
- Be prepared for a steep learning curve, and keep at it.

Welcome fellow PNW'r.

I suggest maybe a little more information on uses would be helpful. Sending you a PM with some other information.

Re: Aloha everyone!

Also check Craigslist and kijiji (Canada) for private listings. Don’t just limit your search to YW

Re: Aloha everyone!

Welcome aboard Catrina. Not sure whether you're south or north of the 49th but this site is also useful;
https://ca.boats.com/boats-for-sale/
Will be just boats.com south of the 49th. There's lots of great places to visit in the area without traveling too far. There are lots of threads on the forum where people are asking similar questions about buying a first boat - this is a very recent one;
https://www.cruisersforum.com/forums...es-246408.html
And also info and suggestions in the liveaboard forum on this site.
