Aloha from Hawaii

Aloha folks,

How is everyone doing today? Just found this forum while doing some research and thought this was a good place to join up and get some knowledge.

A little about me and my sailing history. I pretty much grew up sailing on the Chesapeake with my dad. He had many boats over the years an 18 footer, 25 Cal and then a 30 ft (CAL also I believe). Every year my dad, grandfather and myself would rent a boat on the Bay and take her out for our annual weekend cruise. I have gone through the Annapolis sailing school week long course years ago.

Haven't had much time to sail since then. I did about 9yrs in the Navy and since I got out I have had much time with kids and all.

But i'm looking to getting back into sailing as I really miss the peace and quiet it has to offer. A potential job offer may have me moving back closer to the bay and if so I will definitly be picking up a sailboat.

Look foward to some great tips, discussion and making new sailing buddies.

Aloha!
Dave

Aloha Dave,
Welcome aboard!! Hope you enjoy the forum. There are a few forum members on Oahu and at least four of us here on the Big Island. We have an active sailing community here in Hilo if you are in the area.
Kind Regards,
JohnL
