An English Gent . . . in New York . . . !

Howdy there!

I'm new the forum and looking for some support advice on where to get started!

I have some dinghy racing experience a few weeks of cruising too.

Does anyone have any advice on where to find boats looking for crews for weekend trips and the like in the New York area...?

Many thanks to you all in advance!

Yadu

Glad to have you here! The crew threads may be helpful, but most are for longer term gigs than you are looking for.

Lots of sailing clubs in City Island and the various Long Island Sound harbors in Westchester, CT, and Long Island. Check out activecaptain for locations and phone numbers. Then call and ask if they have a bulletin board where you can express interest in crewing on race nights. You can develop a circle of friends that way, and one will lead to others.

Don't these yacht clubs have bars where you can hang out (as well as post a notice, like salFastTri says), drink beer and meet people with boats?
