some details in our blog here
Sephina: July 2012
lots of good anchorages all along the Portugal coast and marinas are pretty cheap as well. You will find the whole coastline in our blog aswe did it in 2012. Ask if you have any specific questions

Re: Anchoring in Portugal

It can be a pretty unforgiving coast if caught out in bad weather, which in most cases puts you on a lee shore, and even if the wind is moderate, there can be a really big swell coming in making many approaches into a harbour quite an experience.
Weather planning is a must.
On the other hand, Portugal is a nice place, and well worth spending time there.
Sephina's blog is a good start, but get hold of some pilot books/sailing directions for the coast and study them.

Re: Anchoring in Portugal

I was wondering what pilot guides are the best for this area? Are there any that people recommend over others?

Many thanks,
Simon
