Another Newbie

Long time lurker...

While we were determining what our game plan was , I jumped on here a few years ago to see what all the fuss was about.

It persuaded my wife and I to say to hell with it...YOLO. Actually a trip to Tahiti sealed the deal too. We fired the kids through university and told them they are on their own...not really but it sounds good.

We have just purchased a 3 cabin Oceanis 46.1 much like ACW in further down the list. Currently in Charleston being kitted out with a few life essentials, watermaker, solar , etc.

Always come back here to get inspired and push forward on our plans to sail further than the ICW!!

Re: Another Newbie

We looked at an Oceanis 46.1, from the helm it looked like an aircraft carrier.

Good luck with your travels. If you do go back to FP, research the historical sites in the outer islands and visit them (if that's your thing.)

Re: Another Newbie

Welcome to the forum, 86rexer. With an Oceanis 46, you've GOT to get out of the ICW. Charleston is a pretty expensive place to fit out, but if you head north or south from there there's lots of pretty ICW and lots of ways in and out of it as you gain your sea legs. Just stay out of the southeast Florida ICW.
