Another Newbie

Hi,
I have been sailing since I was 4 years old. I have cruised all over the world and I am still searching for the ultimate place. Although I do have to say I have had some pretty great experieinces and consider myself very lucky. I am glad that I found this website and I look forward to learning from everyone. Thanks, Ed

Welcome to the forum Ed.
I think the ultimate place is like the ultimate boat....may be a few compromises!

Welcome aboard Ed!

Wow! I hope your not too old, that's a long time to be sailing. I try to keep it down to about two or three weeks at a time.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the site. There is an overwhelming source of knowledge here and lots of humor as well!

Thanks for the comments. I have been sailing since age 4 and the name of my first official boat was a sunfish (now I have three) at age 8 named Breakwind that we stole from a deceased gentlemens backyard.....He didn't mind and his wife thought that it was pretty funny too. I am happy to be here and I will keep the stories coming. FYI-I am a marine professional so I hope that I can help with some good technical info as well///

James,
The one thing I learned in school that still rings true today is that, "A boat is a compromise, you can't have everything". I feel that whether I am on a catalina 25 or a Gunboat 60 I am still not on land and that is a compromise I am willing to work with.....

Aloha and Welcome aboard!
Good to have you here and I'm certain you've got a lot to contribute.
I'm installing a cooler on my Velvet Drive and need to make the oil lines. Best to have them made up or can I just get the proper hose and some end fittings and do it myself with hose clamps?
regards
